Yesterday, while out on a walk, I was listening to my cheesy eighties playlist thinking about this novel’s prequel, when another piece fell into place. This is a big piece—big like lowering the top half of the Statue of Liberty onto her body, and having it fit perfectly. So sweet, to discover that I don’t have to sacrifice that story to get this one right and what a relief to find I got so much of the story right, just by writing what was in my heart.
